the best way to do it would be to uninstall TCP/IP, but if you are running WindowsXP, it wont let you If you are running XP, try this little registry fix:


  1. Click Start, and then click Run. The Run dialog box appears.
  2. Type regedt32.exe in the Run box, and then click OK. The Registry Editor opens.
  3. In the left pane, navigate to each of the following subkeys:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\DHCP
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\NetBT
  4. In the right pane, double-click the item DependOnService.
  5. Delete any references to SYMTDI or NISDRV.
  6. Click Registry and click Exit to save the changes and close the Registry Editor.
it would be a good idea to back up the registry though before attempting this - just in case
