Hi all, ok, I know its been a week or so but I have finally got back to looking at the kids pc, I have put my hd in the puter and it boots to the login screen, when I enter my password it go's to the lets activate windows blah blah, I assume that's because of the hardware differences in machines
So, both HD's with OS's work in my machine and only my HD works in theirs past the post, their HD in their machine gets to the checking for boot record from IDE... OK, and gets no further.
Ideas on a postcard please guys and girls.

Been messing about and now I get another message saying NTLDR missing, I'm off out for a bit, think I might format again when I get in and start from scratch, unless anyone knows a way around this missing file
