Re: windows 2000 keeps freezing

I would be looking at the CPU fan to see if it is not working causing the CPU to overheat. The fact it works for a few hours after being off leads me to think an overheating problem is causing it.

Could also be the power supply. If you have your PC on the floor the dust from the carpet is sucked in more readily causing fan problems etc...
