At home, probably (at most) four or five. At work it can be dozens if I'm doing several things at once, but the minimum is three.

I think it's meaningful, but I'm not certain how. Box of pens. You keep losing a pen - do you try hard to find the lost pen, or do you get another pen from the box? Same with windows - do you use the IE you have on the taskbar, or do you just open another window? Two types of person.
