I am having speed issues as well - cable modem - checked for virus and spyware - no issues there -
My speed has been real slow the past few days - did a check on a few sped sites. I am currently on the 2MB speed - just did another check and this is the result

1st 128K took 8797 ms = 14900 Bytes/sec = approx 124 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 8843 ms = 14822 Bytes/sec = approx 123 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 8750 ms = 14980 Bytes/sec = approx 125 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 8563 ms = 15307 Bytes/sec = approx 127 kbits/sec
