a clean install of XP

hey everyone, I know it has been done before, but I just want to clarify something, before my mate lets me loose to reek havoc on his "rig"

he has win 98 (se i think) but he has xp that he wants to install.

I suggested he does a clean install so here goes.

he needs to:
A: back up his data & take notes of any configuration like internet
B: make up a boot disk, just incase.
C: put in the windows XP disk then reboot his system
D: gets the option to format his system & choose NTFS.
E: just tell it to install with all connections still attached, like modem

this should do it, shouldn't it or what else should I tell him.

cheers everyone.

ik
pips for the help
