[potentially stupid mode]
I don't generally turn off my machine unless it's to reboot but since my email problem I've had to turn it off and on again a few times. I've noticed that the data late keeps flashing even when it's off. Is this normal and I've just missed it or shouldn't it be doing it (I've only had it since 2001 so can be forgiven for not knowing.
