Oh well

We shouldn't have to change proxies but are forced into doing so if we want to acess a site that is unobtainable unless we use a specific one. When I need to change I always make sure that I go back to not specifying a proxy as soon as possible.
Without specifying a proxy you can be using several different ones AFAIK depending on the site you want to visit. If everyone has no proxy specified then NTL can balance loads but if a lot of customers specify a proxy and leave the setting at that proxy then it can play havoc with speeds. With the speed increases now coming into affect it is quite possible that customers may notice a deterioration of speeds during peak periods and start the proxy dance in an effort to get the full speed back.
This can result in much more strain being put on the proxies and a significant increase in th'engineer's posts maybe putting him over the usage allowance.
