I have to be able to connect to home on NTL Broadband without the hassle of changing Ip address. So the questions are:

1. My Ip address is on a one week DHCP lease. Can I guarantee that if the STB is left on that the lease will renew without a change of IP address?
2. If not, would a dynamic DNS service help and if so how does it work? Mac address or some client software doing a constant transmission to the DDNS server?
3. Are the answers the same for Telewest and all flavours of ADSL?

Any help appreciated.
