You're getting a speed increase to compete with other broadband suppliers they aren't giving people speed increases from the kindness of their hearts they're doing it for a purpose so people shouldn't be so blindly greatful as some seem to be.

I am not stupid in any way shape or form but I'm also grateful for the speed upgrades I received that I don't have to pay extra for (didn't want to say free )...

Being grateful does not mean you have misunderstand the motives of NTL but that you understand........... but are still grateful
