Now tell me how much a cable modem cost when broadband first started and how much they cost now? Don't forget that with technology you pay far less for a product if you wait until you need it and you get a better product into the bargain.

Think about all those thousand of STB users who only want their current 300k service or the 1Mb upgrade. They can have those speeds with their Pace boxes and it hasn't cost NTL anything for an unneeded CM which would have cost a 3 figure sum if provided initially.
