If you do not watch any kind of broadcast TV (ie use your TV only for watching DVDs/Videos or computer/console games, but not for viewing any terrestrial, cable or satellite channels) you do not need to pay a licence..

Mind you, it would be interesting to see what happens if you go to court challenging the TV licence company because the tax they impose is "illegal".
