Question Breaking the limit

Good evening - new guy / new post!

I'm using NTL dial-up (sad, I know) which as you know, has a maximum connection limit of 2hrs. Today however, it has been reaching and breaching the connection time by at least 45 mins, before I manually shut it down.

In theory this is good of course, but I was worried about having been infested with a dialler. So I did the following checks which I'd like an opinion on if you wouldn't mind?:

1.) Checked the DUN folder and established there were no new connections.
2.) Checked the number in my existing connection properties which had not changed.
3.) Ran both AVG 7.0 and Ad-Aware which found nothing.
4.) Made sure my XP Firewall was still active (it was).

In addition to this, I was still able to send and receive emails through Outlook Express, which is of course connected to the NTL mail server. I am working under the theory that had a different number been used to connect to the net, OE would have been disconnected from the NTL server and no mail would have been processed. Is that correct??

I emailed NTL Freedom CS for a possible explanation, enclosing all of the above information, who dutifully informed me that the time limit is 2 hours and made no comment on anything else I said. DOH - I KNOW!!

In your opinions, do you think this is anything at all to worry about and have I taken the necessary steps to ensure I'm dialler free??

Thanks for any input.

Steve

PS I have manually created a new conection which I am monitoring now, to see if it too breaches the 2 hour limit.
