I wish they could give it to me, 1.94Km from exchange (straight line), new wires to house when exchange was upgraded to ADSL, MAX speed available 512Kbs. Perhaps the reason that they can offer 8Mb without overtaxing the infrastructure is that only a percentage will be able to get it. If NTL offered 8Mb everyone paying for it would expect to get 8Mb, therein lies the difference.
