qwerty is an unknown quantity at this point
I only get NTL channel through RF and no sound from x-box

Hi,

I had ntl installed a couple of weeks ago now and as yet have not got the STB to work as i would like.

This is my setup:

* I have no terrestrial aerial.
* A separate cable modem.
* I have the Samsung SMT-2100C.
* I have a TV with 1 scart socket.
* A video with 2 scart sockets.
* I have an xBox.

This is what i would like:
* To have my TV receiving terrestrial channels on the normal channels (i.e. 1-5) and a cable channel.
* I also want my cable channel to be coming through my scart socket on my TV.
* I want to be able to record NTL through my video.
* I want to play my xbox on my TV.

Currently I have the following setup:
* Cable coming from outside into my STB (obviously !!)
* Have the scart labelled VCR going to my xbox.
* Have the scart labelled TV going to my VCR.
* From my VCR I have the other scart going to the TV.
* Have the RF cable going from my STB (labelled output) to my VCR.
* Have the RF cable from my VCR to my TV.

I now have the following problems:
* when i try to tune my TV or VCR to pick up the channels i only get the one cable channel and nothing else.
* when i use my xbox I only get the picture but no sound at all.

Things i have tried:
* moving the scart leads around (i.e. having the xbox going into my VCR from the VCR to the STB and then into the TV) but still no sound.
* plugging the xbox straight into the TV and i get picture and sound.
* using the scart from the VCR (which i know works) and plugging that between the STB and the TV and plugging the xbox into the STB where it says VCR, but i still only get a picture and no sound.
* have called CS faults and they sent some signal to the box and said it should sort it out but still no sound from the xbox or channels 1-5 via RF.

I would appreciate any ones help or advice on this one.

Cheers.
