Heh, not seen this thread in all my time here, but I'm feeling kinda reassured that I'm not the only one to think that the voume during the adverts is considerably louder than during the programs. My theory is that most viewers have fallen asleep during the programs, so the quick loud blast once the adverts start is there to wake us all up so that we'll pay attention to what they're trying to sell us.... after all, we all know that television in general only exists as an advertising medium, and the programs are really in between the breaks and not the other way around

r-type, sorry, I have no idea about the engineers' menu... I've ditched cable telly for Sky
