Imagine going into a shop to buy something and you get to the till and they charge you more than the price you were shown, I'm sure that would go down well.

any company asks it's customers if it's ok to increase prices
The increase for telephone features happened back in September last year from £1.50 to £1.75 and info was sent out to customers advising of the change.
