IMO, he won't get criticised for saying this because it was a questionable decision anyway, and he's basically just shooting his mouth off.
OK maybe Liddell's wasn't a good example to use, but what about Kluiverts when he (from what I remember) was deliberately standing offside for a freekick, and was still in an offside position when he got the ball and scored. how come we didn't hear anything about him cheating?
