I've been with NTL for about 5 years now as they're the only ISP I can actually get..........lucky me. BT tell me that I'm too far from my exchange for a 1mb connection, no Telewest option so I'm scuppered. I love my P2P too much........
Anyway.......NTL supports Xbox Live ?? You what ?? Apparently they're an officially recognised XBLive compatible ISP as well. Stop me if that's wrong. DO NOT PAY THE EXTRA £5 FOR XBL SUPPORT COS THERE IS NONE. The service is generally rubbish anyway. Anyone on a 512kbps BT service who can host say.......8 player games can laugh all over us poor NTL 1.5mb customers who can probably host 3-4 at best before it gets all silly and stuff.
Anyone feel free to explain why the xbox's built-in connection test can give a crisp 20/20 for BT every time but a staggeringly awful 18/25 for a faster NTL connection.
Don't get me wrong.........I love the speed that I'm getting for downloading stuff. I'll be annoyed as fudge if they start capping as has been mentioned but at least the internet service is generally reliable.
My point is..........I am stuck with NTL........it's my only option for broadband and I'm pretty sure they realise it cos every time I complain, they deliberately put some geek with no clue whatsoever on the line to talk to me. Every time.........has everyone else experienced this ??
At least it was easier to set up for wireless than AOL though.......
Anyway, anyone know when I can upgrade to 3mb ?????
