Red face Is there an 'oops' thread?

To explain: early this morning (we're talking 3am here!) I had a water leak from upstairs. Water coming from the ceiling in kitchen and bathroom, smoke alarms going off. I called Be One Homes (full marks, BTW, for responding even at that hour); they've made the electric fittings safe for now (to be replaced), they had the chap upstairs do some mopping to get rid of the worst of the water, and they've ordered a dehumidifier.

The super tried calling me. Usual response to unfamiliar numbers: check Who Called Me. The number was similar to spam, so I blocked it. All well so far.

But when I rang BOH Repairs to try to find out when this is happening, I was told they'd already tried to call me. Uneasy thought: "Um...that wasn't the call I blocked, perchance...?"

Immediate 'oops' feeling.

The number is of course deleted on my phone. Luckily I could call up History on Chrome, ascertain the number, call it - and discover it was the repairs supervisor.

Egg, face, apply. Plus hysterical laughter at my own slip-up!

Has anyone else here been an overcautious prat?
