. . and there's one of the major problems with these big warehouse type outlets and online shopping habits. Jobs disappear as smaller places close down, so that's less tax and NI incoming and more unemployment benefits outgoing.
Of course there's the argument that jobs are then created through the need for delivery drivers (including all the returned parcels), but those drivers also don't pay business rates and/or rent on town center premises.
