That's why I said those who can. In 18 months we've only had one issue and that was waiting maybe 20 mins for a charger to become free on one of our monthly trips from West Yorkshire to North Wales.
We're still on a ridiculously cheap night-time tariff of 4.69 p/kWh, but even when it goes up next July I'm confident it'll be well under 10 p/kWh. To put that in to context, I used to get about 300 miles out of a £60 tank of petrol - would cost much more now I'd wager. The car we've got now uses about 30 KW per 100 miles so even at 10 p/kWh that's £9 to fill it up. Well worth a few mins inconvenience once every 18 months.
We used to pay about £300/month petrol and £250/month gas and electric. Now we've had solar and batteries fitted we're paying £0/month petrol £140/month gas and electric and we're £1200 in credit.
