Yes they get away with it now but it is an archaic out of date system they keep renewing because they have not come up with a better idea. Taxing people for what has become a necessity instead of a luxury I just do not see it happening
The trying to control information part will not win any party votes as well as the electorate and I have never seen a politician that is not thinking about the next election
