Chippy chip portions.

As the portion sizes have shrunk as the prices rise almost weekly, I've seen a few places that have changed "small" or "large" chip portions to many other names. "Single" and "double" lasted a short while after customers demanded that the "double" portion should be twice the size of a "single" one. That was changed to "single" and "family". I've also seen "snack" and "meal", and "portion" and "extra portion". The "tray" portions also shrank when they changed from cardboard boxes to egg-box type trays that were significantly smaller.

Mind you, as the average smaller portion is now often over £4.50, we've stopped buying from chippy's anyway.

And then there are the portions of cooked rice that went up in price but dropped from 250ml to 150ml containers.

I'm glad that I have taught myself to cook at home over the years.
