If it's a TV 360 then the fault is probably a failing hard drive.

If it's a 360 mini, then when power is cut and restored the VM hub and both TV boxes reboot simultaneously. If the mini box boots up faster than the the main 360 box it will fail to detect the hard drive on the network and show an empty recordings menu. However the problem will either auto-rectify when the main 360 box has spun up or it may be necessary to navigate away from the "Saved" screen and coming back to it—or putting the mini box into standby via the remote for 30 seconds and waking it up—forces it to poll the local network again. The recordings will reappear immediately.
