It is only a breach of contract if it stops and they offered no option to replace the service. The software provided on the box is not a part of the contract and can be changed at anytime.

If you can prove they are in breach of "TV" contract you be allowed to exit with no penalty - so still no better off.

You have stated it stops working because of an action by them . That has to be breach of contract by them . In my case they would need to install the new software , the box will accept it ( free upgrade no one needs to call etc )and supply the new remote . If I then stopped paying I would be in breach. There failer to do that means they are not"me"
