I'll state the situation plainly.

If you grimly hang onto the V6, it will stop working when VM's licence to use its TiVo middleware expires (I suspect end of 2027).

If you refuse to keep paying for the TV service which you have contracted for and which is available with another box, you'll likely get a default notice being registered on your credit file and might even be hit by a CCJ.
