Cut them a little slack though. The AI agent exploited software flaws nobody yet knew existed in order to break out onto the internet. It’s not as if they just left it running on a standard windows machine and then left it unsupervised to do its own thing over the weekend.
I know, but we are in Virgin territory here with something we can barely understand in terms of its capability. They are going to have to be incredibly careful as to how we develop AI from here on. Professional standards will have to be established and enforced if we are to keep control of this.
