Oh come on, lets be fair about this.
Businesses pay large sums of money to TV companies to display their adverts, but the TV companies then allow viewers to 'skip' the adverts . . so maybe, just maybe, businesses are getting fed up with being, in a way, 'ripped off'

Two possible solutions:
1) TV companies change things so adverts can no longer be skipped.
2) TV companies don't bother with adverts anymore, and instead get their revenue by charging 5x the amount for their services to viewers
