I've seen wildly varying reactions from people saying they were glad about what happened to people saying that they were very sad.

A lot of comments seem to be dependent on political allegiances (I have friends right across the political spectrum). Those on the far right seem to think that it was done by the left and those on the left seem to think it was done by the right to silence her.

More moderate people have expressed their condolences, even those who didn't agree with her political beliefs.

Ann herself was a great believer in free speech and said (upon the death of John Smith) that it was "absurd" to suddenly heap praise on someone's political views just because they had passed away'.
