Before any of the usual suspects say "bUt He’S rEsIgNeD!!, the Police investigation stated in February 2025, after a referral from that well-known leftie pinko tree-hugging organisation, the Electoral Commission…

Quote:
The Metropolitan Police have launched a criminal investigation into at least £500,000 of donations made to Reform UK by the mother of the convicted fraudster who secretly bankrolled Nigel Farage.

Fiona Cottrell, 67, an aristocrat who was said to have dated Prince Charles in the 1970s and whose son is George *Cottrell, 32, is at the centre of the inquiry in which Scotland Yard has spent more than a year examining potential offences relating to “the evasion of restrictions on donations”.

This relates to concealing or disguising donations derived from an “impermissible” donor to a political party, or the use of “false” information about a donation including the amount or the identity of the donor.

Detectives have interviewed two people under caution…

… Scotland Yard said: “An investigation was launched in February 2025 after a referral was made to the Metropolitan Police by the Electoral Commission relating to donations made to a political party ahead of the 2024 UK general election.

“Detectives from the Met’s special inquiry team are investigating alleged offences under section 61 of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000. Early investigative advice has been sought from the Crown Prosecution Service and two people have so far been interviewed under caution. No arrests have been made.

“An offence under this section is not one that the Electoral Commission can investigate and, as such, it is a matter for the police.”

The Electoral Commission said: “The Metropolitan Police Service have issued a statement about an ongoing police investigation. We have no further comment.”
