Worth pointing out that the table in the article is well out of date. Slacker Starmer has well and truly been overtaken by Farage who must be on at least £8m to date v Starmer's pitiful £107k.

Nigel Farage under scrutiny over aide who wrote book on money-laundering

Cottrell, a 32-year-old aristocrat nicknamed “Posh George”, is regarded as one of Farage’s closest aides.

Earlier this year, he published a book entitled How to Launder Money: A Guide for Law Enforcement, Prosecutors and Policymakers, co-written with Lawrence Burke Files, a self-described financial crime investigator.

The book could now become ammunition for Reform’s political opponents.

In one chapter entitled “The Art of the Bribe”, Cottrell and Files set out how politicians can be bought. They argue that bribes, if in the form of small gifts rather than cash, can be passed off as “a mistake of overexuberance in friendship”.

They add: “Long-term relationships keep the bought person in hand while you’re making money and the cohort is making money . . . Money from corruption is a bit like fiscal heroin; one fix and you know you need more.”

Cottrell and Files provide several examples of non-cash gifts including “paying some of the target’s expenses”, adding “many expenses can be paid that would pass unnoticed and untraceable”.

Cottrell and Files have said their book is aimed at educating law enforcement and the public about criminal techniques.

The book provides guidance on how to act if bribery is found out, stating: “lawyer up immediately”.

“At every step and every turn, at every possible point, counter and attack the accuser from all sides. Use the courts, mass media, personal media and hire people to write and place stories.”
