Depending on your salary tax you could argue that tax is levied unfairly on salaries the 60% trap being one of them.

It’s an interesting point about the government needing to run public services, but what about the not inconsiderate number of people who consume public services yet make no financial contribution, is that ok ? Or should there be another way for people to contribute ?

Sorry but stamp duty is daylight robbery as are estate agents charging a % fee to sell your home (an act solicitors and surveyors are increasingly getting in on also)

The fees & taxes were being charged to sell our old home and buy are new one are enough to make your eyes water. And we’re not buying something ridiculously expensive either
