Stuff ages, stuff, even electronics, can suddenly fail for no obvious reason. Fine, nothing has been changed, but it is fairly obvious that one specific switch port has failed.

Now, here’s the thing, all of the components will be roughly the same age; when one fails, there is a fair chance that others will do so in the not too distant future.

So just a heads up, how old is your router?
