Various kids had been cycling like mad past our home on an electric-assisted bicycle.

Yesterday it went flying past above 40mph without the rider pedalling, and there was a large battery hanging from the crossbar.

The third time it flew past I could smell electrical burning, and it didn't make the return trip until it was carried back by a group of 5 young lads. Smoke was coming out of the rear wheel motor housing.
