Thanks guys! Little (minor) update: another 8602 box turned up from the 'bay this morning, and it's chipped... I didn't know that when I bought it, but giving it the once over I noticed two screws were missing and the remaining two were loose, which was a giveaway...

If Comtel used the Scientific Atlanta boxes I'm aware of at least two mods - the box I got today is definitely modded. Not sure if I can post a photo, but suffice to say it's not the tidiest bit of wiring I've ever seen
