My SD cards aren't reading. My desktop is only giving the connection sound nothing in device manager. My laptop is showing a unknown usb device in device manager.

The desktop has a dedicated sdxc slot.
I tried various micro SD cards into various sdxc then into either the desktop sdxc slot or the usb adapter.
This is all plug and play stuff. It shouldn't be an issue.
