This would appear to be true. I got a chocolate cake from Morrison's (real chocolate, not that fake we've heard about) and I had 2 slices, several hours apart (my tea and my supper).
NO HEARTBURN SO FAR!!!
The experiment continues today and tonight. Then it'll have to wait, as I've already got 2 Madeira sponge cakes I don't want to waste - but the delay will also give heartburn time to start if it's going to. And if it doesn't...ooh, chocolate cake, I have so missed you! Decaf Nescafe tastes the same, so caffeine's no loss. Haven't been much of a boozer in years. But chocolate...
