Sky News deputy political editor Sam Coates has been looking into the potential risk to the hospitality sector with upcoming business rate hikes.

A variety of factors, including revaluations and the ending of COVID-era support, means hospitality venues are seeing their bills potentially set to rise by more than a 100% in the coming years.

Sam has now heard that a rescue package that could help with this is coming in the next few days - but only for pubs.

This leaves others, like hotels, potentially exposed to the uplifts.

As Sam mentioned on this morning's Politics at Sam and Anne's, it poses a big political headache for the prime minister and the chancellor.

It comes as Sam revealed earlier this week that there was "ongoing cabinet-level opposition" to the hike.

"Rachel Reeves' colleagues are not happy about it," he said.
