If someone wants to spend their time and their resources on things like this, fine. If it involves public resources then there is an issue. It won't stop with female witches in this area but will extend out to all sorts of people that were persecuted/convicted "unfairly". (By this I mean "crimes" like witch trials where your trial consisted of drowning if innocent, burning if guilty type of thing.)
