Hi Andy,
There's no way around this, I'm afraid.

Both boxes uses coax to access live channels etc, but require an internet connection to stream on demand and access apps etc.

The Tivo has a built in modem (so can use the coax cable) to access online services. The 360 doesn't have an inbuilt modem though, and therefore needs to connect to your broadband router using either WiFi or ethernet.

I appreciate thats not the answer you wanted, but I hope it at least provides some clarity.
