Fruit trees round the back on the dog-walking trail too. Apples and greengages are just about coming into season. As you can tell, I like a trip into the southwest at this time of year
Gloucester services are run by the Dunning family which owns Tebay in Cumbria and also Cairn Lodge on the M74 in South Lanarkshire, amongst other stuff. We try to time our stops around them, to the dismay of my kids who despise the artisan cola in the cafe and shop (though we’ve since learned you can get regular corporate colas in the filling station shops
