I used to say that they either didn't subsequently figure it out of it was decided not to do it for obvious reasons because we don't see or hear about people visiting our timeline from a different time period.
However, maybe some instances where people claim to have seen aliens or spirits could be such people??
It could also simply be that those who do time travel are told not to disclose themselves so that problems don't arise as a result of this new found (to us) capability.
