Re: Canadian Liberals win 4th Term

Their leader, Poilievre, was seen as the future of conservatism in the West and was being interviewed by everyone trying to find out the reasons for his success. At the time of writing, he might be about to lose his seat.

This is almost entirely because of Trump and the perception Poilievre was too close to him and that the Liberals will stick up to him instead. Poilievre was keeping close to the Trump media universe, people like Jordan Peterson, and it seems that association just killed his chances. It's incredible he might lose his seat from where he was just three months ago.

Absolutely. It’s amazing that Trump didn’t realise the impact his rhetoric on Canada becoming the 51st State of America would have on the Canadians at a time when the candidate most likely to win would have supported him.

The signs are that he may have gravely misjudged the impact of his tariffs, too.

In the meantime, Canada’s people have another four years of liberalism to look forward to. Who’d of thought it?!
