Re: Virgin TV (2024)

As well as all that, it is worth mentioning that the early issues some had with the 360 have long since been resolved. You can, in fact, select certain programmes in a series link not to record. Just go to recordings under ‘View All’ or select ‘Episodes’ and delete what you don’t want.

Suggestions are also available on the 360, it’s just not called that. Instead, you go to ‘Recommended for you’ on the Home page and the programmes highlighted in this section are far more relevant to me than ‘Suggestions’ ever were.

There are default recording options on the 360, but I can’t remember what these options were on the TiVo. I dare say they are pretty similar.

As for programme information on the EPG, to the best of my recollection, the same information appears on the 360 as for the TiVo.

So most of the features people on here believe that the 360 doesn’t have, are in fact there, but with sometimes a different means of accessing them.

In addition, of course, the 360 has profiles (a ‘must have’ unless you live alone), more apps and voice control.

It is faster than the TiVo, and there’s no lagging or freezing.

If you are using your remote in a darkened room, the keys light up.

As for the wishlists, it is true to say that if there are no shows matching your search on the system, the 360 won’t show it. But if it is somewhere on the system, it will find if for you. I have just searched for the director Alfred Hitchcock and is has come up with 27 results.

Yes, some things are different, but no two systems are exactly the same. The 360 certainly isn’t the downgrade that some of you make it out to be. Although the TiVo was good when I had it, I wouldn’t go back to it now.
