I wouldn't call them less intelligent. Some animals can be very smart indeed. Just because they don't talk doesn't make them unintelligent. Especially cats, our two used to be so smart at times. Sky used to come to the living room about 10.30-11 every night and meow at us. If you got up he'd lead you up to the bedroom. Yes our cat told us it was bed time.
