A friend got a kitten that wouldn't stop crying and annoying the whole household. This must have included his existing adult cat as he eventually went over and put his paw over the kittens mouth! The kitten must have known it meant shut up as he stopped crying.
Both this incident and this video just goes to show that less intelligent beings are still able to recognise what irritates them and how to convey this to the object of the irritation.
