I’m convinced they do have a clue to the point they know it’ll be completely ineffective. However that’s not the point - as long as enough people
think that it is (the curtain twitchers), and it provides an opportunity to “stand up to big tech” there might be enough political capital in it.
It’s also a good distraction from the causes and effects of actual problems in society.
