I had an assessment done back in the 80's while at school and that worked fine through university. I've not needed anything further since then until I failed (twice) a module in my GDip Theology course and rather than simply forking out to retake the module and maybe failing the exam again (only failed the one exam, the essays were passed) I thought I'd get reassessed as the college needed something more than I could provide.


So with the help of the British Dyslexia Association we found a remote assessor with available slots and I spent 3.5 hours one morning with him. It's interesting to see the details this time. My reading is fine, a bit slow but that was because I was reading with half an eye on his questioning afterwards. It's the fact that some tasks I am really good at and others poor that is what they are looking for. That is there is a statistical difference in the poor results.
It was fun finding the spelling errors and other typos in the report though. I now have an amended copy.
