I'm not sure that Premier Sports gave up. If anything, it's Viaplay who have given up.

Last year, Viaplay made Premier Sports an offer they couldn't refuse for Premier Sports GB (€30m) and they wisely took it.

When Viaplay offered it back to Premier Sports this year (likely for peanuts in a distressed sale) it was again a deal they couldn't say no to.

It's probably little extra cost for Premier Sports to run Premier Sports GB given that they now run premier Sports Ireland (and Premier Sports Asia) but they will get additional subscription income.
